Salary: £79,260-87,153 per annum


Working Arrangement: Ideally twice a week onsite (flexibility)


Panoramic Associates is excited to announce our partnership with Surrey County Council in the recruitment of a permanent Head of Pensions (Resources). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team, where you'll play a pivotal role in the future of the Surrey Pension Fund. Ideally you are able to attend onsite twice a week but this isn't a dealbreaker.


As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement the Surrey Pension Team's strategic plan. You will be the driving force behind the Resources function, translating strategy into clear objectives while promoting a 'one pensions team' mindset. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of the mission to 'responsibly deliver a first-class customer experience, every step of the way.'


Role:



  • Lead and manage the Resources function within the Surrey Pension Team.

  • Translate the strategic plan into actionable goals for the team, ensuring alignment with broader objectives.

  • Foster a high-performance culture, with a focus on continuous improvement and accountability.

  • Contribute to the management of the Pension Team budget (c. £8m).

  • Provide proactive, professional leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, driving performance and customer service excellence.


Requirements:



  • Strategic-level experience and a proven track record in leading resources and continuous improvement in a pensions or similar environment.

  • Experience in leading multi-disciplined teams, creating high-performing cultures where individuals take personal accountability.

  • The ability to translate strategic aims into a practical, measurable plan, fostering engagement among staff, customers, and stakeholders.

  • A strong focus on customer service, driving continuous improvement through KPIs.

  • Strategic mindset

  • Creative flair- can bring fresh ideas to the team

  • Accountancy qualification (desirable)


The salary banding for this post is £79,260-87,153 per annum.
