Lead Quality Controller Job Overview
This role leads the in-line Quality Control function across all production lines, ensuring that all products meet defined quality standards and specifications. The position involves direct oversight of Quality Controllers, coordination with various internal departments, and active contribution to the Quality Management System (QMS).
Lead Quality Controller Job Responsibilities
Monitor production lines to ensure product compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Supervise and support Quality Controllers in daily quality checks and tasks.
Analyse quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Assist in developing and maintaining SOPs, instructions, and quality-related documentation.
Act as the point of contact for quality issues and ensure timely resolution or escalation.
Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions with cross-functional teams.
Train and mentor Quality Controllers to ensure skills and compliance are maintained.
Oversee use and calibration of quality control equipment on production lines.
Promote quality awareness and compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of the site's Quality Management System (QMS).
Support product development teams with quality testing and control methods during new product introduction.
Lead Quality Controller Required Attributes
Proven experience in a Quality Control leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable background in FMCG manufacturing.
HNC or equivalent qualification in Quality Management or a technical discipline is advantageous.
Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
