We’re excited to introduce an opportunity for a Customs Manager to lead our Customs team. As a Customs Manager at B&M, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing Customs related activities across our UK operations and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and optimizing our import processes. This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders including supply chain, commercial, and finance teams.



Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Manage and oversee all customs operations, including import/export documentation and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs laws.
  • Liaise with customs authorities and other regulatory bodies. Maintain the company’s AEO status
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize customs processes and reduce costs.
  • Oversee classifications and lead and develop the team to ensure effective, compliant and efficient customs clearances
  • Monitor and analyse customs-related data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and training to all staff on customs regulations and procedures.
  • Perform self assessment and compliance audits, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless logistics and supply chain operations.



The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs management or a similar role.
  • History of working in retail
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and customs laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software/tools.
  • Experience with HS classification, product valuation, and import/export documentation.
  • Proven track record of managing customs audits and inspections
