Liverpool Cathedral is a place of encounter, inspiration, and community. As one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, we engage thousands of visitors, worshippers, and supporters every year.
We are now seeking a talented and detail-oriented Fundraising Officer to help us build lasting relationships, deliver dynamic fundraising events and secure grant funding
The Fundraising Officer will play a key role in the fundraising team, focusing on individual giving and event support, with some smaller trust and foundation application support. This is an opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of projects across the Cathedral, working closely with staff and volunteer teams.
You will join the organisation at an exciting time as we have several capital projects that are moving forward over the contract period – your work will help change the fabric of Liverpool Cathedral for the better.
Key Responsibilities

The Fundraising Officer will play a key role in the fundraising team, focusing on individual giving and event support, with some smaller trust and foundation application support. Key Responsibilities
- Individual Giving: Develop and deliver a creative and effective individual giving programme to support the maintenance of the Cathedral building.
- Donor Stewardship: Manage donor communications and stewardship for individual giving, membership, and mid-level donors, ensuring a positive supporter journey.
- Event Support: Assist in planning and delivering fundraising events such as abseils, a new community event, and the annual sleepout.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of communications and donations using the Cathedral’s CRM system.
- Campaign Development: Collaborate with the Acting Director of Fundraising and the communications team to create engaging content for fundraising campaigns.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams to support the successful delivery of events and campaigns.
- Trusts and Foundations: Conduct thorough research into potential funders and grants, including requirements and deadlines.
- Grant Applications: Write compelling grant applications to secure funding from Trusts and Foundations
