The Role


We are looking for an experienced application and systems professional. The ideal candidate will have significant experience through retail, FMCG or professional services organisations. They will be able to clearly and concisely translate business and commercial value from deep and complex systems requirements and communicate to all levels the benefits delivered by various enterprise systems and applications. They will be a person who demonstrates clear empathy and understanding of the value that closely integrated applications will deliver and the tightly bound systems requirements:

·       Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.

Requirements


Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Group Technology Systems Roadmap – own the plan and systems strategy covering Pentesec, Symity and the core UC and LAN Business.
  2. Architecture – drive collective and collaborative thinking across the three parts of the business to centralise and consolidate a set of core business process applications.
  3. Application optimisation – reduce the number of core business apps and drive value via a simplified customer interaction and experience.
  4. Business process - Drive improvement and provide strategic level thinking, aligned with supporting applications and data.
  5. Data Strategy – ensure that the data strategy is clear and owned by both the business and technology teams, and has a definitive roadmap based on business requirements.
  6. Champion key business applications (especially Dynamics, ServiceNow and Great Plains); ensuring they are well supported and developed to realise genuine benefit to the business and, where appropriate, to Charterhouse customers.
  7. Responsible for the development and maintenance of all business applications and associated processes, including managing 3rd party support and development partners.
  8. Manage and own the flow of data between applications and throughout the business, ensuring consistently high quality and completeness.
  9. Change Manager (applications) – ensure all changes are agreed, prioritised and delivered in a responsive and agile manner, and in accordance with well-communicated plans.
  10. Develop business information portals and reports to ensure that users and management have the right information at the right time to make decisions.
  11. Develop and maintain processes to support the correct use of the systems, to ensure that user / operational efficiencies are being realised while maintaining a strong control environment.
  12. Promote and follow key processes, focused on maintaining security and functionality of applications, especially change and release management.
  13. Act as a catalyst for change with a deep understanding of how to do things right within applications, data and processes.
  14. Line manage a small team that supports the function.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • System Design Knowledge: Understanding software architecture and design principles to ensure applications meet organisational needs
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, schedule, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of coding languages, development frameworks, and emerging technologies
  • Data – excellent understanding of data, relationships and management principles
  • Good at breaking down complex issues into smaller approachable tasks.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Database Management: Proficiency in handling, storing, and transferring data securely and efficiently.
  • Reporting - used Power BI and/or similar tools to ensure the right data is available online to business decision makers.
  • Developed systems and interfaces.
  • Experience with integrating multiple systems.
