OVERVIEW


MJ Quinn provides critical infrastructure and Energy support in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works. Our project department deliver high quality design and installation works to public services, particularly in the healthcare, energy and communications sectors.


JOB OBJECTIVE


Reporting to our Commercial Director, this role is responsible for leading the estimating department, settling the standard for excellence and accuracy in all bids and tenders. You will ensure the delivery of competitive and comprehensive project estimates, underpinning the company’s ability to secure new business and maintain its standing in the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES


· Lead and develop the estimating team to achieve departmental goals.


· Oversee the preparation of bids, ensuring all estimates are acute, competitive, and aligned with client expectations and company’s objectives.


· Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and cost plans.


· Develop strategies with procurement to ensure we achieve the most competitive quotes by understanding current market trends.


· Manage multidisciplinary infrastructure tenders from conception through to completion, delivering tenders that meet project and business requirements.


TO BE SUCESSFULL YOU'LL NEED


· Previous experience in a similar role.


· Proficiency in using typical estimating software packages.


· Creating Excel reports.


· Cost planning knowledge and experience.


· Ability to lead a team across a business unit or area.


· A legal right to work in the UK.
