Your new role Our client is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to support the estimating function by preparing accurate and competitive bids for mechanical installations on diverse and often multi-million-pound projects. Based in Liverpool, you will play a key role in identifying costs and contributing to successful tender submissions that support the company's commercial success.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing and compiling mechanical estimates from initial enquiry to final submission
Analysing project drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Researching and sourcing accurate material, labour, and equipment costs
Liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure robust pricing and technical compliance
Supporting negotiations with clients and subcontractors as required
Attending post-tender meetings and assisting with bid presentations
Providing input and support to junior members of the estimating team
Keeping updated with market trends and cost fluctuations
What you will need to succeed:
A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline
Previous experience in a mechanical estimating role within the construction or M&E sector
Good understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and tendering processes
Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to pricing
Clear and confident communication skills
Right to work in the UK
Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check if required
