Role: Senior Marketing Manager - North
Department: Client Office
Location: Liverpool ideally but flexible – Newcastle, Birmingham, Kendal.

The Role
The senior marketing manager, north is responsible for leading and developing the regional marketing team to provide a growth-orientated marketing programme across Rathbones businesses delivering both strategic and tactical initiatives engaging, acquiring and retaining new and existing clients.
Lead and manage a team of marketing professionals, setting and delivering stretching, but realistic, goals and evidencing value to key Rathbones stakeholders with measurable results.
As well as having an oversight of all the regional offices the role owner will have specific responsibility for the design and delivery of a comprehensive marketing strategy for our northern offices (Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Kendal) aligned with commercial objectives. The senior marketing manager will work closely with the central client marketing team and the digital marketing team, to inform and leverage central programmes, as well as create bespoke local programmes across various target segments both in the B2B and B2C arenas. Working with client development colleagues to provide a collaborative marketing and BD approach to our client facing teams.
Reporting to the head of client marketing, with a dotted line to the head of the north.
Outcomes of the Role
- Manage the team (as detailed above) to design and implement marketing strategies and programmes/plans that support growth and retention objectives for each business channel.
- Maintain a strong culture of high-quality delivery in the regional marketing team, demonstrating timeliness, accuracy and value.
- Ensure the team is knowledgeable of and motivated by clear personal and professional development opportunities, both internal and external.
- Play a key role in the development of the overall client marketing strategy by working collaboratively with the head of client marketing, channel marketing managers and business stakeholders using knowledge of best practice, industry trends and other regional learnings.
- Lead marketing’s relationship in the north, working closely with B2B and B2C marketing managers to ensure effective local deployment of national programmes, providing input into how programmes can be developed.
- Lead on the development and implementation of bespoke, local programmes aligning with the region’s business objectives.
- Identify potential strategic partner relationships and marketing opportunities locally which align with business objectives and strategy.
- Agree and develop locally targeted advertising campaigns to support business activity and raise profile.
- Understand in detail the competitor landscape and market for each of Rathbones’ target audiences in the north.
- Regularly evaluate current programmes and potential new marketing opportunities, to ensure they meet the needs of the business.
- Ensure relationships with external suppliers, agencies and third parties are transparent, honest, well maintained and deliver value for all parties.
- Use budget effectively and manage to prescribed guidelines, wherever possible gathering data to prove value and return on investment.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experienced marketing professional, likely to be from an investment/wealth management or private banking business
- Proven experience in designing and executing marketing strategy with a clear focus on ROI
- Accomplished stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills; experienced at presenting at business committees and in project teams
- Demonstrable team leadership/management experience
- Delivery/execution focused managing multiple programmes across business channels
- Product literate across financial markets and investment product set; good understanding of the regulatory environment; digital marketing literate
- Committed to personal development with a client-centric mindset
