HOME-START KNOWSLEY

Purposes of the job


·        To contribute to the effective day to day operation of the scheme in accordance with the Home-Start Governing documents, Standards and Methods of Practice, Home-Start Agreement and Quality Assurance Standards.


·        To maintain high standards of practice in supporting volunteers within the ethos of Home-Start.


·        To ensure inclusion and diversity in all aspects of the scheme’s operation and work.


Main Responsibilities



  • To ensure HSK develops and maintains an effective team of active and engaged volunteers.

  • To be responsible for the recruitment, training and management of volunteers.


·        To support the implementation and review of all Home-Start policies and procedures with volunteers.


·        To ensure evidence of volunteering work is collated timely and accurately.


·        Contribute to the scheme’s administration, monitoring and evaluation systems using Lamplight.


·        To promote and lead all volunteer events, where necessary including recruitment events, volunteer’s week, Christmas celebrations and volunteer fundraising activities.


·        To create and manage social media content to attract new volunteers.


·        To establish and maintain a Volunteer Fundraising group.


Safeguarding


·        To undertake designated responsibilities to/for safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare in line with Home-Start Knowsley Policies and Procedures


Managing Volunteers


·        To be responsible for the recruitment of volunteers’ process.


·        Deliver training to volunteers in line with the Home-Start quality assurance system standards.


·        Retaining and supporting volunteers through regular communication and peer support events, including supervision for volunteers waiting to be matched.


·        Ensuring Volunteers DBS, annual safeguarding training and files are up to date.


·        Liaise with Family Support Coordinators and volunteers.


Working in Partnership


·        Complete volunteer reports for the board of trustees or as directed by the scheme manager.


·        To attend and contribute to regular Team Briefings / Staff Meetings and planning meetings.


·        Networking appropriately within the community.


·        Making presentations to our stakeholders, referrers and other professionals in order to raise the awareness of Home-Start Knowsley.


Managing the Wider Context


·        Promoting the scheme, its profile, ethos and practice.


·        Contributing to the development of Home-Start locally, regionally and nationally.


The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above.
