Do you have excellent Electrical fault finding & diagnostic skills on equipment? looking for your first role in Rolling Stock or already experienced? Working in Electrical maintenance of equipment or Vehicles?


We are looking for Rolling Stock Electrical Technicians to join one of our key rail clients based in Liverpool . The individual will be working with State-of-the-art trains and for an integral part of the team.

This role has a salary of £56, 000pa (with shift allowance) rising to £59,600pa (with Shift allowance) after completing competencies, the role is working shift covering 24/7 including Nights.

The ideal individual will have to have had some exposure to the Rolling stock industry however isn't necessary as out of industry transferable skillsets will be considered such as Brewery, Armed Forces, Avionics, FMCG, Offshore, Factory etc

This is an Electrical bias role and individuals must have Good level of fault finding & Diagnosis capabilities

Your Tasks



  • Undertake fault finding and identify the associated repair required

  • Undertake and provide support across the business for all condition monitoring and manually monitored systems on the train and its interfaces

  • Provide assistance and technical feedback to the RAMS / Performance Engineer and depot production teams on technical incidents, including Line of Route Technicians as required

  • Perform functional system tests on mechanical, electrical, electronic and software systems and performing specific measurements as prescribed/required

Your Profile




  • Essential: Served a recognised apprenticeship to minimum City and Guilds/ BTEC level with Mechanical / Electrical / electronic bias Level 3

  • Extensive professional engineering experience in maintenance

  • Knowledge and experience in modern technical systems and fault finding techniques and the interaction between these, conducting and leading complex root cause investigations and reading electrical / mechanical schematics competently

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
