Fletchers Solicitors Ltd have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing CoP/Private Team.
Purpose Of Role
To support the COP/Private Client Department in managing WIP, and maintaining and monitoring regular interim billing of managed files, as well as other miscellaneous matters. This role will also provide ad hoc support to the COP/Private Client team, particularly in relation to data preparation for litigation and annual reporting purposes.
Additionally, the role will serve as a key day-to-day link between the COP/Private Client team, the Costs team, and the Finance department.

- Quarterly billing for deputyships and trusts
- Regular billing of other work types within the department
- Preparation of financial aspects of OPG reports
- Liaison with SCCO (all costs process except drafting the bill)
- Develop and maintain suitable records of costs projections, recovery rates, SCCO timescales
- Preparation of financial schedules to support litigation
- Support CoP paralegals with banking eg payments, reconciliations
- Administration of account opening processes
- Monitor and manage regular billing of disbursements
- Ensure prompt settling of bills
- Work in collaboration with other departments to improve processes in billing and related activities
- Knowledge of relevant CoP billing practices and legal framework
- Understanding of basic finance management ie logging and review of WIP, client balances, disbursements etc
- Excellent teamwork sills - Working productively with colleagues in a professional, efficient and courteous way.
- Proficient use of Excel
- Excellent time management – i.e. the ability to complete given tasks within an acceptable timescale, to work within any reasonably given deadlines and to time record.
- The ability to work in an organised way, prioritising work appropriately.
- The ability to apply initiative and forward thinking.
- Flexible approach & keen attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of the documents/procedures associated with Court of Protection/Private Client work.
- Using Proclaim as a file management system.
- Previous experience in Private Client and Court of Protection work.
- A-levels or equivalent.
- Awareness of brain injuries and other disabilities
