Job Introduction


We have an exciting opportunity to join our Buying team as a Buyer within our Food team looking after key categories on a 12-month maternity cover contract.


Buying is central to our business strategy, and we remain committed to delivering top-quality brands at the best possible prices for our customers.


As a Buyer in the food category, you’ll take ownership of driving sales in key growth areas. You’ll have the chance to develop and manage your own product ranges from concept to shelf, showcasing your commercial acumen and creativity in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Buyer who can make a real impact and help shape our offering across our stores nationwide.


Job Overview


  • Define and develop product ranges within the food category
  • Source and select products aligned with our brand and customer expectations
  • Place orders to ensure high levels of availability in-store
  • Create competitive pricing and promotional plans
  • Analyse sales data and identify opportunities for growth
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Oversee product sample approvals and manage the sample library
  • Monitor market activity and emerging food trends
  • Collect feedback from stores and field teams regarding product performance, availability, and merchandising


Minimum Criteria To Apply


  • Proven experience as a Buyer – ideally within food or FMCG, with experience in range development
  • Strong commercial awareness and a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage conflicting deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • A confident communicator with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • Highly organised, solution-focused, and a genuine ‘can-do’ attitude
