The role

Full Time - 35 hours per week (Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm)

We are looking for a committed individual to join our Moores team at our Liverpool Retirement Living Estate. You will support the Estate Manager, ensuring a high standard repairs and grounds maintenance is delivered to internal and external areas of the estate, ensuring a safe environment for our residents and staff.

Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Undertaking maintenance and grounds tasks as directed, utilising own trade and DIY skills when required.
  • Working to support by the Estate Manager/Facilities and Compliance Manager to ensure that the grounds and maintenance programme is kept up to date.
  • Bringing to the attention of the Estate Manager/Facilities and Compliance Manager any matters relating to the condition of Estate property that requires attention.
  • Advising the Estate Manager/Facilities and Compliance Manager of materials required in good time to ensure continuity of work.
  • Undertaking minor general repairs on the Estate as required.
  • Undertaking any painting and decorating on the Estate as required.
  • Being available to attend site in an emergency.
  • Assisting in the inventory of equipment and ensuring ongoing maintenance and safe storage of equipment.
  • Assisting the charity in implementing quality assurance initiatives to continually improve maintenance standards.
  • Assisting when required, with high cleaning of walls, ceilings, extractor hoods, the movement of furniture and equipment, using ladders and steps as per Retail Trusts manual handling and health and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience of working in a maintenance role, or similar. A trade qualification would be desired, but not essential.
  • Experience or understanding of plants and garden environment, equipment and safe working.
  • Sensitive to the needs and concerns of elderly and disabled people living on the estate.
  • Enthusiasm to undertake a wide variety of maintenance tasks and general DIY, some of which will require safe lifting, moving of loads.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication, building effective relationships with residents, colleagues and external organisations.
  • Ability to be aware of and use safe working practices, health and safety and fire precaution procedures.

You will require a calm personality, working accurately and neatly to solve daily maintenance issues in a timely manner. This role is subject to appropriate DBS check.
