The Role

We’re now looking for a Senior Technical Paraplanner to play a pivotal leadership role within our financial planning division. This is a senior, non-client-facing position where you’ll act as the technical backbone of our advice function, leading a developing paraplanning team and driving the quality and consistency of advice across the business.

This role offers genuine scope to shape the future of the paraplanning function, with a clear pathway toward a Head of Paraplanning position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a growing paraplanning team
  • Act as the technical authority across the financial planning process
  • Review and quality-assure advice, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Design and deliver robust financial planning strategies across pensions, tax, investments, and protection
  • Produce and oversee high-quality, personalised suitability reports
  • Collaborate closely with Financial Planners and Client Partners to translate client needs into defensible advice
  • Maintain and improve processes, templates, and frameworks to enhance efficiency and best practice
  • Stay up to date with regulatory, legislative, and product developments

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (minimum), working towards or holding Chartered status
  • 3–5+ years’ paraplanning experience with strong technical depth
  • Proven ability to design complex, tailored advice strategies independently
  • Strong experience producing high-quality, technically accurate suitability reports
  • In-depth knowledge of pensions (DB & DC), tax planning, investments, and protection
  • Experience using cashflow modelling tools, risk profiling systems, and modern platforms
  • Strong understanding of current regulation and the wider financial planning landscape

Desirable Skills

  • Chartered status (APFS or CFP)
  • Experience mentoring or leading paraplanning team members
  • Knowledge of advanced investment approaches (e.g. momentum or trend-based strategies)
  • Exposure to later-life planning, decumulation strategies, and sequence-of-returns risk

This is a unique opportunity for a technically strong paraplanner to step into a leadership role, influence advice standards, and play a key part in a fast-growing, award-winning firm.
