Overview

A major infrastructure business is seeking an experienced Senior QS Lead to support the delivery of large substation and power infrastructure projects across Liverpool and Scotland.

The role will focus on heavy civils works associated with substations and cable infrastructure schemes. Candidates must have strong heavy civils experience alongside solid NEC3 contract knowledge, particularly Option A and Option B.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and quantity surveying activities across major infrastructure projects
• Manage NEC3 Option A & B contracts throughout the project lifecycle
• Oversee subcontract procurement, valuations, forecasting and cost reporting
• Manage compensation events, variations and change control
• Support project delivery teams with commercial guidance and risk management
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities across projects
• Support and mentor junior commercial staff where required

Requirements

• Proven Senior QS or Commercial Lead experience within heavy civils or infrastructure projects
• Strong NEC3 contract administration experience, particularly Option A & B
• Background within substations, utilities, power, transmission or major infrastructure projects
• Strong commercial reporting, forecasting and change management experience
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
• MRICS or equivalent preferred but not essential
