Adele Carr Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Senior Legal Cashier to join a well-established and highly respected commercial law firm based in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to take on a varied and responsible role within a supportive and progressive environment, with clear opportunities for development into compliance-focused responsibilities.

This full-time, permanent position is fully office based and offers the chance to play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of a busy legal practice, while also supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to continuous improvement across the finance function.

The Role
As Senior Legal Cashier, you will support the smooth running of the firm's cashiering and finance operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy and efficiency across all financial processes.

Key responsibilities;

  • Completing daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations of complex client ledgers
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Supporting billing processes, completion statements and residual balance procedures
  • Processing supplier invoices, expenses and credit card statements
  • Managing credit control processes and chasing outstanding debt
  • Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules, VAT requirements and internal controls
  • Assisting with month-end, year-end and audit preparation tasks
  • Supporting, mentoring and training junior cashiering staff and fee earners
  • Working closely with leadership and compliance teams to strengthen financial controls
  • Undertaking compliance training with progression towards deputy COFA responsibilities

About You

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm
  • Strong working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and legal accounting procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience using legal accounts systems and strong Excel skills
  • A genuine interest in developing further within legal finance and compliance
