A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Costs Lawyer to join a well-respected and award-winning North West law firm based in Liverpool.

The Role

You will join the firm’s in-house Billing Team, supporting a variety of legal departments across the wider business. The role will involve managing your own caseload and handling a broad range of costs work from start to finish.

Duties will include:

• Preparing Bills of Costs, including electronic bills
• Drafting Costs Budgets, Replies and Points of Dispute
• Conducting negotiations and advocacy where required
• Managing your own caseload independently
• Working closely with fee earners and legal teams across the firm
• Ensuring KPIs and departmental SLAs are achieved
• Keeping up to date with legal costs developments and compliance requirements

Requirements

Essential

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within a legal costs role
• Previous claimant costs experience preferred
• Ability to manage a caseload independently
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Advocacy experience
• Motivated and approachable attitude

Desirable

• Experience using Cost Master and Proclaim
• Previous mentoring or supervisory experience
