Residential Support Worker
Widnes and Kirkby, Merseyside
- Full Time | Permanent
- £12.71 - £13.53 per hour plus £60 per sleep-in shift

Our client is a specialist residential childcare provider dedicated to creating safe, nurturing and supportive homes for young people. Key Responsibilities
- Build positive and trusting relationships with young people, their families and professionals
- Support young people with daily living activities, education and personal development
- Promote independence and life skills, including money management and preparing for adulthood
- Manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with care plans and behaviour support strategies
- Support young people to attend appointments, activities and family contact sessions
- Administer and record medication in accordance with policies and procedures
- Work closely with external agencies to support positive outcomes for young people
- Transport young people using company vehicles and public transport where required
- Prepare meals, undertake household duties and help maintain a safe and welcoming home environment
- Complete accurate records, reports and documentation
- Participate in team meetings, training and development activities
- Carry out health and safety checks and contribute to safeguarding responsibilities
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children and young people is desirable
- A full UK driving licence is highly desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is preferred, although support can be provided to obtain a new DBS if required
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A caring, resilient and professional approach
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
- Flexibility to work a residential shift pattern, including sleep-in duties
