Senior Residential Support Worker
Widnes and Kirkby, Merseyside
- Full Time | Permanent
- £14.55 to £14.79 per hour plus £60 per sleep-in

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home
- Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to Residential Support Workers
- Promote and maintain high standards of care in line with Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements
- Act as a positive role model and demonstrate best practice in direct work with children and young people
- Support care planning, risk assessments, reviews, and case management processes
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and documentation are maintained
- Participate in meetings, reviews, and planning discussions relating to young people
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times
- Assist with the administration and smooth running of the home when required
- Transport young people to school, appointments, activities, and family visits where necessary
- Undertake sleep-in duties as part of the rota
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Previous recent experience working within a residential childcare setting
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People, or equivalent qualification
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Ability to lead by example and support the development of colleagues
- Excellent communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in challenging situations
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred, although our client can support successful applicants through the DBS process if required
- Genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve positive outcomes
