Streetworks Permit Coordinator
Location: Merseyside (Office-based)
Full-time 40 hours | Permanent | (8am to 5pm - 1 hour lunch)
About the Role
Our client is looking for a Streetworks Permit Coordinator to join their operations team. This is a key administrative position responsible for coordinating streetworks permits and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry requirements.
You will act as a central point of contact for all office-based streetworks activities, supporting operational teams and liaising with local authorities and clients to ensure works are delivered efficiently and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a focal point for all office-based streetworks activities, providing support and guidance across the business
- Prepare and submit permit applications, including start, stop, and registration notices (R1)
- Respond to highway authorities and client queries within required timescales to avoid fines and penalties
- Manage permit modification requests, duration challenges, and other compliance-related communications
- Run and review daily jeopardy and compliance reports (e.g. notices due, registrations due, works in progress)
- Investigate and assist in responding to Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) and overrun charges
- Update internal systems with accurate permit and project information
- Liaise with local authorities, clients, and internal teams regarding streetworks activity
- Support the wider compliance team with data and reporting requirements
- Assist other business areas when required, including covering absences
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- A proactive approach with the ability to adapt to change
- Team-oriented mindset
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Desirable:
- Knowledge or experience of streetworks legislation (e.g. NRSWA / TMA)
- Experience using streetworks systems such as Street Manager or Symology Aurora
- Previous experience working within utilities, highways, or infrastructure environments
