What you'll do:
- Oversee the full spectrum of financial governance by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with statutory regulations, and adherence to accounting standards across the organisation.
- Monitor general ledger postings and cost centre allocations to guarantee high-quality financial information is maintained at all times.
- Establish, review, and maintain clear accounting policies and procedures that are fully compliant with relevant reporting standards and internal controls.
- Facilitate project cost tracking processes to support effective contract implementation reporting and ensure reliable operational insights.
- Own the Finance Risk Register by monitoring risks, updating mitigation strategies, and ensuring all identified risks are addressed proactively.
- Conduct thorough financial due diligence for new suppliers to safeguard against potential risks and ensure robust supplier relationships.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within Finance by identifying process weaknesses, implementing enhancements, and monitoring compliance with established policies.
- Manage treasury-related activities including maintenance of banking mandates, payment platform access, and reconciliation routines.
- Work collaboratively with Finance Operations Managers to develop efficient transactional finance processes that are well-communicated and embedded throughout the business.
- Support both internal and external audit activities by providing timely evidence, resolving findings efficiently, and delivering guidance or training on financial control matters.
What you bring:
- Qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience demonstrating deep technical knowledge of financial control principles.
- Extensive experience in roles focused on financial controls, accounting or audit within complex organisations where accuracy is paramount.
- Proven ability to maintain or enhance control environments through diligent oversight of processes and risk management frameworks.
- Demonstrable track record managing treasury functions including banking mandates, payment systems administration, or cash management routines.
- Experience developing robust financial processes that are clearly documented, communicated effectively across teams, and consistently adhered to.
- Strong analytical skills enabling accurate interpretation of complex financial data for informed decision-making.
- Excellent written communication abilities including drafting clear policies or procedural documents for diverse audiences.
- High levels of organisation with meticulous attention to detail when handling sensitive information or multi-faceted projects simultaneously.
- Ability to build dependable cross-functional relationships founded on trust, empathy, cooperation, and shared goals within a collaborative environment.
