About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Procurement Manager to join our growing team in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering value, building strong supplier relationships, and driving strategic sourcing initiatives.
As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier performance, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the business achieves the best possible value while maintaining quality and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead sourcing activities, including supplier selection, tendering, and contract negotiations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality, compliance, and service levels.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage procurement risks and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
- Produce procurement reports, spend analysis, and market intelligence to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments to support business growth and operational excellence.
- Mentor and develop junior procurement team members where appropriate.
About You
You'll be an experienced procurement professional with excellent commercial awareness and strong negotiation skills. You will be confident managing multiple priorities and building effective relationships across all levels of the business.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or Senior Procurement role.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent commercial and analytical skills.
- Experience delivering measurable cost savings and value improvements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using ERP or procurement systems.
- Full UK driving licence (if travel is required).
Desirable
- CIPS Level 4 or above (or working towards qualification).
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction, logistics, or a similar commercial environment.
- Knowledge of sustainability and responsible procurement practices.
