An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join a precision manufacturing environment in Liverpool. This is a newly created role supporting the introduction of an in-house manufacturing capability for producing critical precision components within a highly regulated and technically demanding environment.
This is a highly autonomous role working closely with Engineering and Production teams, suited to someone who enjoys independent working within a quality-focused manufacturing environment.
The Role
• Set up and operate a range of CNC machine tools including:
o5-axis machining centres
oFanuc controlled CNC lathes
oVertical machining centres
oMulti-axis turn/mill machining centres
• Manufacture precision components and sealing products to tight tolerances
• Carry out machine setup, tooling changes and process optimisation
• Work within small batch and high-precision manufacturing environments
• Use inspection equipment including hard gauging, probing systems and CMM equipment to ensure product quality
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation
• Work with materials including stainless steels and heat-resistant super alloys
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering activities
Essential Requirements
• Time-served machining/manufacturing background with a minimum of five years' experience within a precision engineering environment
• Experience setting and operating CNC machinery within a high-precision manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controlled CNC lathes and vertical machining centres
• Minimum two years' experience operating multi-axis CNC turn/mill machining centres
• Experience manufacturing components to fine tolerances
• Strong understanding of ISO programming
• Experience using inspection equipment including CMM and precision gauging
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
• Able to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a team environment
Desirable Experience
• Experience with Okuma controls
• Experience setting and operating Mazak Integrex machine tools
• Knowledge of Mazatrol Smooth controls
• Grinding experience (surface and/or internal)
• Experience of twin turret and twin spindle machining
• Experience working within controlled, regulated or high-precision manufacturing environments
