Reed is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation in the logistics industry to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who is passionate about driving operational efficiency, embedding best practice, and supporting business-wide transformation initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing procurement processes, enhancing supplier engagement, improving purchasing controls, and supporting the implementation and adoption of digital procurement solutions across the business.
The Opportunity
As Procurement Manager, you will take ownership of procurement operations and purchasing governance, ensuring that procurement activities deliver value, efficiency and compliance. Working closely with operational teams, finance colleagues, senior leaders and external suppliers, you will help shape and improve procurement performance across the organisation.
This position offers the opportunity to influence business processes, lead change initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of a modern, commercially focused procurement function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop day-to-day procurement and purchasing operations across multiple business areas
- Oversee purchasing policies, procedures and controls to ensure consistency and compliance
- Support the ongoing development and optimisation of procurement systems and digital tools
- Drive initiatives to improve procurement efficiency, visibility and service delivery
- Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions
- Monitor procurement performance through meaningful reporting, metrics and management information
- Identify opportunities to increase value, reduce costs and improve supplier performance
- Support supplier selection, contract management and commercial negotiations where required
- Coach and develop procurement team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Champion process excellence and contribute to wider business transformation programmes
About You
- Proven experience in a procurement management role within a medium to large organisation
- Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement and purchasing processes
- Experience delivering process improvement, operational change or transformation programmes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience working with procurement technologies or sourcing platforms
- Strong commercial awareness and supplier management capability
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
- A track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
- Knowledge of procurement governance, risk management and compliance principles
- MCIPS qualification, or progress towards achieving professional procurement accreditation, would be advantageous
