The Role

As a Health and Social Care Tutor, you'll enjoy a varied position combining a reduced caseload of learners with responsibility for supporting and developing a team of Personal Tutors to deliver exceptional teaching, learning and assessment.

You'll play a key role in raising quality standards, coaching colleagues, sharing best practice and ensuring learners receive an outstanding experience throughout their apprenticeship journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a reduced caseload of apprenticeship learners, delivering engaging teaching, coaching and progress reviews.
  • Coaching and mentoring Personal Tutors to enhance teaching, learning and learner outcomes.
  • Carrying out quality observations and providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Delivering coaching sessions, workshops and best practice training for individuals and teams.
  • Supporting the development of Schemes of Work and creating engaging learning resources.
  • Providing technical guidance on apprenticeship standards and vocational qualifications.
  • Keeping colleagues informed of sector developments and changes to apprenticeship standards.
  • Quality assuring workshop delivery through observations, learner interviews and portfolio sampling.
  • Working closely with Quality, Curriculum and End Point Assessment teams to ensure learners successfully progress through Gateway and End Point Assessment.
  • Supporting self-assessment activities, quality improvement planning and inspection readiness.
  • Providing Information, Advice and Guidance to learners and stakeholders.
  • Promoting safeguarding, learner wellbeing and GDPR compliance across all areas of delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who combines excellent vocational knowledge with a genuine passion for coaching, mentoring and improving quality.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience within apprenticeships or work-based learning.
  • A strong understanding of quality improvement and delivering outstanding learner experiences.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or developing colleagues to improve performance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and raising standards.
  • Flexibility to travel where required.

Essential qualifications:

  • Vocational qualification at Level 3, 4 or 5 (relevant sector).
  • Assessor qualification (AVA or equivalent).
  • Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent.
  • Level 2 English and Maths.
