Functional Skills Maths Tutor - Liverpool

Are you an experienced Maths teacher or tutor? Prospero Teaching are looking for Functional Skills Maths Tutors across Liverpool!

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking Functional Skills Maths Tutors to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition to learners across Liverpool.

You'll support students who may have gaps in their education or require additional help developing their numeracy skills.

Sessions will be tailored around each learner's current ability and goals, with a focus on developing practical Maths skills and working towards Functional Skills qualifications.

Position Details:

Location: Liverpool
Position: Functional Skills Maths Tutor
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths
Strong Maths and numeracy subject knowledge
Previous teaching or tutoring experience
Experience supporting learners with gaps in education is desirable
QTS, PGCE or equivalent desirable
A flexible and learner-focused teaching style

To be eligible for this role, you must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to obtain a new application
Provide two professional references
