An experienced Project Manager is required to support the delivery of a demolition and construction project at a major food manufacturing facility in Aintree.
The role will involve managing the project through the demolition and construction phases within a live operational environment. The successful contractor will coordinate site activities, manage contractors and act as the key interface between the client, site stakeholders and the wider project team.
Strong stakeholder management and client liaison skills will be essential, along with previous construction experience within the food and beverage, FMCG or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the project through the demolition and construction phases.
- Manage project scope, programme, cost, quality and safety.
- Act as the principal day-to-day interface between the client, site stakeholders, contractors, suppliers and the wider project team.
- Plan and sequence demolition and construction activities.
- Identify and manage project risks, site constraints and operational interfaces.
- Coordinate contractors and monitor performance against agreed milestones.
- Lead project progress meetings and ensure actions are completed.
- Provide clear and concise project updates to senior stakeholders.
- Manage change control and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Ensure all activities comply with site rules, permit requirements and relevant health and safety standards.
- Ensure the works are planned to minimise disruption to live manufacturing operations.
- Maintain accurate project documentation.
- Support project handover, close-out and completion of all deliverables.
Experience Required
- Proven Project Management experience delivering demolition and construction projects.
- Strong construction delivery experience within an operational industrial environment.
- Previous project experience within food and beverage manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client liaison skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors and work packages.
- Ability to manage construction activities within a live manufacturing facility.
- Good understanding of construction safety, risk management, project programmes and project controls.
- Commercially aware, organised and capable of driving project progress.
- Able to communicate confidently with contractors, site teams, technical specialists and senior stakeholders.
- Based locally to Aintree, or able to attend site approximately three days per week.
Desirable Experience
- Experience delivering projects within food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing.
- Experience managing demolition works and subsequent construction activities.
- Knowledge of projects where hygiene, controlled access and production continuity are critical.
- Relevant construction, engineering or project management qualification.
- Appropriate site safety credentials.
