Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a Fabrication & Welding Lecturer on behalf of a leading education provider.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Fabrication and Welding programmes. The successful candidate will support learners in developing the practical skills, technical knowledge, and industry behaviours required for success within the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Fabrication and Welding.
- Teach a range of practical and theory-based units to learners.
- Monitor and track learner progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
- Assess learner work in line with awarding body requirements.
- Maintain accurate student records and attendance monitoring.
- Promote a safe working environment and adhere to health and safety procedures within workshop settings.
- Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement activities.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- Relevant industry qualifications in Fabrication, Welding, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or willingness to work towards one.
- Recent industry or teaching experience within Fabrication and Welding.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to supporting learners to achieve their full potential.
Desirable
- Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
- Experience delivering City & Guilds, EAL, BTEC, or apprenticeship programmes.
- Experience teaching in Further Education.
