Insite Public Practice Recruitment Limited
Semi Senior Accountant

£28,000 - £32,000 | Liverpool | Hybrid Working
Are you an ambitious practice professional looking for a role where you can broaden your technical experience, build strong client relationships and take the next step in your career? This Semi Senior Accountant opportunity offers the chance to join a well-established accountancy practice where development, collaboration and quality client service are genuinely valued.
Based in Liverpool, you'll work as part of an experienced and supportive team, gaining exposure to a varied portfolio of clients while continuing to develop your technical knowledge. The role would suit someone who is part-qualified and progressing towards ACA or ACCA, with previous practice experience and the confidence to take ownership of their work.

The opportunity

You'll be involved across a broad range of accounts and tax work, working closely with senior team members while developing towards greater responsibility. There is also scope to support and mentor junior colleagues, making this a strong opportunity for someone who wants to progress within accountancy rather than remain focused solely on compliance.

What you'll be doing
  • Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements for a varied client portfolio
  • Producing management accounts and providing useful financial insight to clients
  • Supporting the preparation of corporation tax and personal tax computations
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and becoming familiar with their businesses
  • Working alongside managers and senior colleagues to deliver work accurately and efficiently
  • Supporting clients with cloud accounting software and providing practical guidance where required
  • Reviewing work and helping maintain high standards across client assignments
  • Coaching and supporting junior members of the team as they develop
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the client experience
What we're looking for

You're likely to be working towards ACA or ACCA and will already have gained solid experience within a UK practice environment. Alongside your technical ability, we're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and wants to continue developing their career.
You'll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Part-qualified ACA or ACCA status, or active progression towards qualification
  • Experience preparing accounts and working with tax computations
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and relevant UK legislation
  • Confidence communicating with clients at different levels
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to support less experienced colleagues
  • Experience with cloud accounting software; CCH knowledge would be advantageous
