Our client is a well-established and growing engineering contractor specialising in the delivery of mechanical and electrical building services projects.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their team.



The Role

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.

You will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical projects from inception through to completion and handover.
  • Take overall responsibility for project delivery, programme, budget and quality.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes and monitor progress against key milestones.
  • Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, construction and other building services disciplines.
  • Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site-based teams.
  • Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Attend client, consultant and project progress meetings.
  • Manage project costs, valuations, variations and financial reporting.
  • Identify and manage project risks, delays and commercial issues.
  • Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and contractual requirements.
  • Work closely with the commercial and design teams to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning and final handover.
  • Ensure health, safety and quality requirements are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.


About You

The successful candidate will have proven experience managing mechanical building services projects and will be confident working in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Project Manager
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services.
  • Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of project costs and variations.
  • Strong subcontractor and supplier management experience.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against demanding programmes.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and project management.
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering, building services or a related discipline are desirable.
