The Role
Reporting into the senior People team, you will act as a trusted business partner to leaders, supporting a wide range of operational and strategic people initiatives. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, employment legislation and people policies.
- Managing complex casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and investigations.
- Supporting organisational change programmes and workforce planning activities.
- Coaching and developing managers to strengthen leadership capability and confidence.
- Contributing to wellbeing, engagement and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.
- Supporting talent development, succession planning and recruitment activity.
- Using people metrics and insight to identify trends and inform decision-making.
- Ensuring a consistent and legally compliant approach to people management practices.
About You
- Previous experience within a true HR partnering or HR advisor role.
- Strong employee relations expertise and current knowledge of UK employment law.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence, coach and challenge constructively at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Trade Union Experience
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience within education, public sector, not-for-profit or similarly regulated environments would be advantageous.
