The Role

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Plumber to join the Works Department at HMP Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a secure and rewarding environment, carrying out essential maintenance and repair works across the prison estate.As part of the facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive plumbing maintenance, ensuring the safe and effective operation of water systems and associated services throughout the site.
Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive plumbing repairs.
• Diagnose and repair faults on a range of plumbing systems.
• Install, maintain, and replace pipework, fixtures, and fittings.
• Undertake repairs to water systems, sanitary ware, and drainage systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately.
• Liaise with colleagues and prison staff to ensure works are completed efficiently.
• Participate in the weekend rota (1 in 3 weekends).

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a maintenance plumbing role.
• Ability to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance works.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
