Criminal Advocate / Duty Solicitor – Liverpool


I’m supporting a busy and growing criminal defence team in Liverpool who are looking to appoint an experienced Criminal Advocate/Duty Solicitor. This is a full‑time role offering strong professional development within a fast‑paced environment. Part‑time candidates will also be considered.


Key Responsibilities

  • Representing clients detained at police stations
  • Managing a varied caseload across the full range of criminal offences
  • Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including summary trials


Candidate Profile

  • Solicitor with 1+ year PQE in criminal matters
  • Police Station Representative qualification
  • Criminal Litigation Accreditation preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills
  • Confident managing a demanding caseload with minimal supervision
  • Professional, pragmatic, and calm under pressure
  • Passion for publicly funded criminal defence work
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong team‑working skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
