Marketing Lead - #2159304
Handle Recruitment
The Opportunity
Handle is supporting a fast-growing live music and entertainment company with their search for a Marketing Lead to join the team on a 12-month fix-term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, commercially minded marketing professional to take ownership of a high-volume marketing operation, overseeing campaigns across an extensive portfolio of live music concerts and productions in the UK and internationally.
This Marketing Lead is about more than simply maintaining an existing marketing function.
The business has experienced significant growth, and its marketing processes and systems have evolved organically alongside that expansion. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping to bring greater structure, consistency and scalability to the function, whilst continuing to deliver an ambitious programme of campaigns and commercial results.
You will at first work alongside the current Marketing Director to understand and document how the function operates, before taking responsibility for leading it throughout a maternity cover period.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead marketing strategy and delivery across a diverse portfolio of UK and international live music events, concerts and productions.
- Monitor ticket sales, campaign performance and commercial data to identify priorities, opportunities and areas requiring intervention.
- Develop and implement results-driven marketing strategies across paid advertising, organic social media, email, PR and grassroots activity.
- Manage, motivate and support the internal Marketing Assistant, providing clear direction and effective leadership.
- Oversee the external marketing agency, reviewing and approving campaign strategies, creative approaches and ongoing activity.
- Review and approve email marketing strategies developed by the agency, whilst creating targeted standalone campaigns where required.
- Oversee digital, social media, email, website and PR activity, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all channels.
- Work closely with partner venues to develop and deliver effective local marketing campaigns that drive ticket sales.
- Manage marketing budgets, monitor return on investment and ensure resources are allocated effectively.
- Regularly attend live music events, concerts and productions to capture engaging content for social media and email marketing channels.
- Identify opportunities to improve campaign performance, audience engagement and ticket sales.
- Introduce practical improvements that support greater efficiency, consistency across the marketing function.
We are looking for a driven, creative and highly organised marketing professional who combines commercial thinking with strong operational capability.
You will be someone who enjoys taking ownership, making decisions and constructively challenging existing ways of working. Equally, you will be an inspiring and supportive leader who knows how to get the best from internal teams, agencies and external partners.
You will ideally bring:
- Significant marketing experience, ideally with direct responsibility for commercial performance.
- Experience managing a high volume of simultaneous campaigns, products, locations or events.
- A strong understanding of marketing processes, workflows and operational improvement.
- Strong digital marketing knowledge across paid social, organic social, email marketing and websites.
- Confidence interpreting sales and campaign data and translating insights into actionable decisions.
- Experience managing budgets and measuring marketing return on investment.
- Excellent organisational, communication and prioritisation skills.
- The confidence to take ownership and make decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- A creative mindset, with the ability to develop new ideas and explore different approaches.
- Experience within live music, concerts, live entertainment, events, theatre, touring or ticketing would be particularly advantageous.
The role is predominantly remote, with regular travel to events and occasional in-person meetings with the Marketing Director, who is based in the North West of England. The successful candidate should therefore be comfortable with occasional travel to the region as required.
If you are an experienced marketing professional looking for a role that combines commercial responsibility, creative opportunity and operational development, please apply.
