Description
The role of Procurement Specialist will be responsible for:
- Lead sourcing, tendering, and supplier negotiations across key ingredient categories.
- Develop and execute category strategies that deliver commercial value and supply continuity.
- Build and manage supplier relationships, driving performance improvements and mitigating risks.
- Identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities across the supply base.
- Support dual-sourcing initiatives and supplier diversification programmes.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams.
- Monitor market trends and provide procurement insights to support business decisions.
- Maintain accurate supplier, contract, and pricing information within ERP systems
Profile
The likely candidate will have the following background:
- Proven procurement, sourcing, or category management experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, ingredients, packaging, or a related sector.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commercially minded with the ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value creation.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using ERP or procurement systems.
- CIPS qualification, or working towards one, would be advantageous
Job Offer
- Competitive salary of £45,000-£50,000 depending on experience.
