Key Responsibilities

• Managing a high-volume portfolio of outstanding invoices and debt recovery activities
• Proactively contacting clients by telephone and email to secure timely payments
• Monitoring aged debt and maintaining accurate collection records
• Building positive relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries promptly
• Reconciling client accounts and ensuring accurate financial records
• Preparing credit control reports and supporting month-end processes
• Working closely with fee earners and finance colleagues to improve collections performance
• Maintaining compliance with VAT regulations and internal finance procedures
• Contributing to the efficiency and success of the wider finance team

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 years' Credit Control experience involving a significant volume of invoice chasing
• At least 2 years' experience within a legal, professional services or similar corporate environment
• Good understanding of credit control procedures and debt collection processes
• Working knowledge of VAT
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience working within an in-house finance team is highly desirable
• Professional, proactive and team-oriented approach
