Speke
We are looking for a hands-on food and beverage manager to run a £1m per year hospitality operation at one of the largest and most exclusive family focused health and racquets clubs in the North West. Based in Speke, with over 9000 members, the club is synonymous with quality and offers a fully branded menu including wraps, pizzas, burgers and steaks, classic meals, light bites, plant based and healthy options alongside a fully stocked bar and a very busy coffee operation throughout the day. You will also be catering for a wide variety of events and parties held at the club throughout the calendar whilst the outdoor catering area is very popular during the peak summer months with members congregating around the outdoor pool.
As the food and beverage manager you will be responsible for coaching and leading a team of around 35, including a lead chef, 5 chefs, 2 bar supervisors and a large number of full and part-time front of house staff.
The kitchen opens at 7am and typically will close around 7pm which means that you will not be required to work late nights and will only occasionally be required to open the club. You will typically be working shifts of 8-4pm 9-5pm or 10-6pm unless there is a member’s event running. You will be required to work one weekend in two or one weekend day each week.
We are keen to talk to candidates who have a proven track record as a GM/AGM or F and B Manager working within a high footfall branded hospitality operation. It is essential that you will be an inspirational leader and coach and have the presence and personality to lead your team and deliver an exceptional member experience and 5*standards on each visit to the clubroom. This will be continually measured and monitored by NPS, member feedback, mystery shops and regular visits from the Executive Team to the club as well as the employee engagement scores for your own leadership. Underpinning this will be a candidate who will be highly visible within the clubroom and willing to support in all areas of the operation and being accessible to the members and the many clubs that run events throughout the year. You will need to be as focused on your GPs and managing your rotas and labour targets and ensuring your ordering and stock management can meet the rapidly fluctuating demands of the hospitality operation.
In addition to a basic salary of up to £41K, there are potential bonuses of £2500 payable every 4 months. There are also significant benefits to working at the club, these include complimentary membership for you plus one and your children worth several thousand pounds, discounts off spa, personal training, swim and tennis programmes, 28 days holiday per annum increasing to 33 days with service with your birthday off and free parking at the club.
Given the fantastic sporting and leisure facilities at the club, an interest in fitness and sport in general is desirable but not essential.
Interviews are immediately available.
