Temporary Sales Ledger / Credit Controller (Part-Time)

A Liverpool-based organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Ledger / Credit Controller to support its finance team on a part-time temporary basis.

This opportunity would suit an experienced finance professional who can quickly settle into a new environment and take ownership of day-to-day sales ledger responsibilities with minimal training. The role will involve working within a busy finance function, ensuring invoices are raised accurately, payments are allocated correctly and customer accounts remain up to date.

Whilst there is a credit control aspect to the position, it is not a traditional debt-chasing role. A significant part of the role will involve investigating outstanding balances, resolving invoice queries and identifying reasons why payments may not have been received.

Key Responsibilities

• Raising and processing customer invoices
• Allocating incoming payments
• Maintaining accurate sales ledger records
• Reconciling customer accounts
• Investigating outstanding balances and payment queries
• Liaising with customers and stakeholders regarding invoices and payments
• Supporting credit control activities where required
• Resolving account discrepancies
• Assisting with general transactional finance duties
• Supporting the wider finance team as required

Person Specification

• Previous experience within a Sales Ledger and/or Credit Control role
• Able to hit the ground running with minimal supervision
• Strong experience of invoicing, payment allocation and reconciliations
• Confident managing customer accounts and resolving queries
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable working within a busy office environment
• Experience using Xero would be advantageous but is not essential
• Available to start at short notice
