Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOE + Bonus

Are you an experienced practice accountant ready to take ownership of a client portfolio and play a key role in developing long-term client relationships?

A highly regarded accountancy practice in Liverpool is looking to appoint a Client Manager to join its growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and entrepreneurial clients while leading a team and contributing to the continued success of the firm.

The Opportunity

As Client Manager, you'll be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, overseeing service delivery, providing commercial advice, and ensuring the highest standards of client care.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
• Acting as the main point of contact for client queries and business advice.
• Reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax work.
• Managing workflow and ensuring compliance deadlines are met.
• Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value.
• Supporting clients with business growth, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Leading, mentoring, and developing junior team members.
• Working closely with Partners to support the growth and development of the practice.
• Attending client meetings and delivering a proactive advisory service.

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience with substantial practice experience).
• Previous experience managing a client portfolio within accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts and business services.
• Experience reviewing work and managing staff.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially minded with a genuine passion for client service.
• Organised and capable of managing multiple client deadlines.
