Location: Liverpool, UK – Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

Contract: 12 months

Rate: £350–£425 per day (Umbrella)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Close Transformation Lead to drive the transformation, standardization and centralization of global month-end close processes within a multinational organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape how financial close operations work across multiple countries and entities, improving efficiency, strengthening controls and establishing consistent global ways of working.

You will lead a team of eight accounting professionals, challenge existing processes, identify improvement opportunities and develop a roadmap to deliver sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the transformation and standardization of SAP month-end close processes across multiple entities and countries.
• Develop and deliver a transformation roadmap, identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation and increased efficiency.
• Review existing accounting processes, understand country-specific variations and establish consistent global practices where appropriate.
• Use SAP functionality to improve closing timelines, process visibility, data quality and financial controls.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of eight accountants with varying skills and experience.
• Collaborate with Finance, Financial Controllers, Technology and global stakeholders to design and implement improved processes.
• Establish governance, track KPIs and measure the benefits of transformation initiatives.
• Support audit activities and ensure robust financial controls and sustainable process implementation.

Essential Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience within multinational finance, accounting services, shared services or finance transformation.
• Strong practical knowledge of SAP month-end close processes, with a proven track record of delivering improvements.
• Experience with SAP Advanced Financial Closing or Financial Closing Cockpit.
• Experience standardizing or centralizing finance processes across multiple countries, entities or regions.
• Demonstrable experience leading transformation initiatives and developing improvement roadmaps.
• Experience managing teams and leading people through operational change.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial controls and complex, multi-entity environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
