Compliance Manager

Liverpool | 3 days onsite | Up to £70,000

Nigel Frank is recruiting on behalf of a financial services client in Liverpool. This not-for-profit organisation provides corporate health plans and supports customers across the UK.

They’re looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to strengthen the organisation’s Compliance Framework and policies. This is a strategic, hands-on role working closely with the Chief Risk Officer, Board and Executive Committee, while advising teams across the business.

You’ll also take on the Data Protection Officer role, leading the organisation’s approach to data protection and GDPR compliance.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the Chief Risk Officer with regulatory engagement and liaison with the FCA, PRA and ICO
• Helping the business meet its Consumer Duty and other regulatory obligations
• Delivering the Compliance Assurance Plan and overseeing compliance reviews
• Acting as Data Protection Officer and overseeing GDPR compliance, awareness and training
• Leading compliance training and initiatives that build awareness and accountability
• Reviewing and signing off financial promotions and customer-facing materials
• Monitoring regulatory developments and preparing the business for change
• Providing practical, commercially focused compliance advice
• Carrying out regulatory reviews, including in areas such as GDPR and Consumer Duty
• Supporting business projects as the key Compliance contact, helping teams consider regulatory requirements from the outset

What you’ll bring

• At least five years’ compliance experience in insurance or financial services
• Strong knowledge of FCA regulation, including SYSC, ICOBS, PROD, SM&CR and Consumer Duty
• Experience as a Certified Individual under SM&CR
• A strong understanding of UK data protection law
• A strategic, proactive and values-led approach
• Confidence building relationships, influencing across an organisation and challenging constructively

Desirable

• A degree or equivalent professional experience
• A compliance or data protection qualification, such as ICA or CISM
• Previous experience as a DPO or in a similar data protection role
