About the Company:
An established regional law firm with a substantial footprint across clinical negligence. The firm is well regarded for its specialist department, handling complex claims and offering high-calibre work alongside structured professional development and a collaborative working culture.
Role Summary:
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of an established caseload focused on multi-million-pound catastrophic injury claims. You will join a large, restructured specialist department handling complex litigation, including birth injuries, spinal trauma and brain injuries. The role allows you to step directly into high-value files without the need to build an account base from scratch, backed by dedicated leadership and a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on a dedicated caseload of complex, high-value and catastrophic claimant clinical negligence files, giving you immediate exposure to intellectually demanding, high-worth instructions.
- Formulate bespoke litigation strategies and conduct comprehensive investigations into liability, causation and quantum, deepening your technical trial preparation and contentious dispute expertise.
- Instruct and work alongside leading Counsel, medical experts and rehabilitation specialists, expanding your professional network and market profile across major multi-track proceedings.
- Support and guide junior solicitors, trainees and paralegals across the team, providing you with valuable supervisory experience to advance your own senior career trajectory.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with proven claimant clinical negligence experience, ideally with 5 or more years' PQE
- Demonstrated track record of handling high-value or catastrophic injury claims, including brain injury, spinal injury or cerebral palsy cases
- Hands-on litigation experience running files through to trial, joint settlement meetings or mediations
- Exceptional client care and communication skills, with the ability to advise vulnerable clients and their families empathetically
If this role isn’t quite right, it’s still worth speaking to one of our specialist team, as we may be working on something that hasn’t hit the market yet.
