Accountable Recruitment

Are you an experienced Corporate Tax professional who enjoys the technical side of compliance, managing client relationships and delivering a high-quality service?

A well-established and highly respected accountancy practice is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Manager to join its Liverpool team, offering a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, partner-led firm with a strong presence across the North West and an established portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate clients.

The position is predominantly compliance-focused, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a varied corporate tax portfolio, work closely with experienced Partners and support the continued development of the wider tax team.

Corporate Tax Manager Responsibilities:

  • Managing a varied portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring all compliance requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Reviewing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns prepared by junior members of the team.
  • Overseeing the preparation of corporation tax provisions and disclosures for statutory accounts.
  • Managing corporation tax compliance assignments from initial preparation through to submission.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing guidance on corporation tax liabilities, payment deadlines and compliance obligations.
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding enquiries, correspondence and other corporate tax matters.
  • Reviewing the work of junior colleagues, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional development.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Audit, Accounts and Tax to deliver a joined-up client service.
  • Identifying opportunities for additional tax planning and advisory support, working alongside senior tax specialists where appropriate.
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring a consistently high standard of service delivery.

Corporate Tax Manager Attributes:

  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified, or qualified by experience with a strong corporate tax background.
  • Previous experience within an accountancy practice, with a particular focus on UK corporation tax compliance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporation tax computations, CT600 returns and relevant UK tax legislation.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients and overseeing compliance deadlines.
  • Confident reviewing tax computations and supporting the development of junior team members.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a proactive and client-focused approach.
  • Some exposure to corporate tax advisory work would be advantageous but is not essential.

Corporate Tax Manager Benefits:

  • Flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to join an established and respected independent North West accountancy practice.
  • Varied corporate client portfolio spanning multiple industries and business sectors.
  • Close working relationships with experienced Partners and senior tax professionals.
  • Ongoing professional development and technical training.
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Opportunities for long-term career progression.
  • Exposure to advisory projects where desired, without the requirement to move away from a compliance-focused position.
