A six-figure executive opportunity to shape the future of SME investment and business growth across the North West.

River Capital is entering an exciting new chapter, and we are looking to appoint an exceptional Head of Investment to play a pivotal role in leading the next phase of our growth and development.

As the specialist fund management business within the MSIF Group, River Capital has an established track record spanning more than 30 years. Together, the group has deployed over £104 million to more than 1,900 businesses, supporting ambitious SMEs through debt finance and helping drive economic growth across the Liverpool City Region and wider North West.

This is a significant senior leadership appointment for an experienced investment professional who wants to make a genuine impact.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the senior leadership structure, the Head of Investment will take a leading role in shaping and delivering River Capital’s investment strategy, overseeing existing funds and developing new funding initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing strategic leadership across River Capital’s investment and fund management activities.
• Driving fund performance, financial management and investor relationships.
• Leading the development, structuring and establishment of new funds and funding partnerships.
• Providing senior investment judgement and credit oversight across lending activities.
• Developing strategic relationships and driving business development across the North West.
• Overseeing portfolio performance, problem debt, restructures and recoveries.
• Leading, developing and strengthening the investment team.
• Working closely with the Board, Investment Committee, investors and wider regional stakeholders.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are keen to hear from established senior professionals with substantial experience in investment, commercial lending, debt finance or fund management.

You will bring:

• Strong investment and credit assessment expertise.
• Experience of managing investment funds and investor relationships.
• A proven track record of leading teams and delivering commercial objectives.
• Excellent commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing complex portfolios, impaired assets and recoveries.
• The credibility and confidence to engage with investors, business leaders, professional advisers and senior stakeholders.

Above all, we are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded leader who can operate autonomously, influence strategic decisions and help shape the future of the business.

• Six-figure basic salary, dependent on experience.
