About the Role
Be Free Campaign is a youth-led mental health charity supporting young people aged 11–25 through early intervention, education and community-based programmes.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Youth Mental Health Officer to help deliver our mental health and wellbeing programmes across schools, colleges and community settings.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly with young people, helping them build confidence, develop coping strategies and improve their mental wellbeing.
What You'll Do
Deliver mental health, suicide prevention and wellbeing programmes independently and alongside colleagues.
Build positive relationships with young people aged 11–25.
Facilitate inclusive group activities in schools and community settings.
Support safeguarding and signpost young people to appropriate services.
Collect feedback, record attendance and contribute to impact reporting.
Help improve our programmes through young people's feedback and experiences.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
An understanding of young people's mental health, gained through lived experience, education, volunteering or employment.
Experience engaging with young people.
Good communication skills and confidence working with groups.
A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and youth empowerment.
Ability to travel reliably across the Liverpool City Region.
Desirable:
Experience delivering workshops or youth programmes.
Relevant qualifications or studies in psychology, mental health, youth work or education.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
At least two years' driving experience, potentially enabling you to drive our mobile youth centre.
You don't need to be a mental health professional. We value lived experience, transferable skills and enthusiasm. Full programme training and support will be provided.
What We Offer
£10,400 annual salary for 15 hours per week.
28 days' annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata).
An additional paid wellbeing week (pro rata).
Flexible working arrangements.
Training, supervision and professional development.
The opportunity to make a real difference to young people's lives.
