Corporate Tax Manager – Liverpool – Up to £55,000

An established and highly regarded North West accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join its Liverpool office.

Working within an established tax team, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients, with a primary focus on compliance alongside opportunities to become involved in advisory assignments.

The Liverpool office has an established corporate tax team, and this appointment will strengthen the firm's corporate tax offering as the business continues to develop.

Corporate Tax Manager – Responsibilities

Working closely with the Tax Partners and wider team, you will oversee the delivery of corporate tax compliance services to a varied portfolio of clients, predominantly based in the Liverpool area.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring the timely delivery of compliance services.
• Reviewing corporation tax computations and returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current legislation.
• Overseeing corporate tax compliance deadlines and managing workflow across the portfolio.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing advice and responding to tax-related queries.
• Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients and managing correspondence where required.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team, providing technical guidance and support.
• Working closely with the Partners on corporate tax matters and identifying opportunities to provide additional services.
• Supporting the delivery of corporate tax advisory assignments as required.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the firm's other offices when necessary.

Corporate Tax Manager – Requirements

The successful candidate will be an experienced corporate tax professional with a strong technical background and the ability to manage client relationships and compliance assignments independently.

Ideally, you will have:

• CTA, ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a corporate tax-focused role within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients.
• The ability to review tax computations and returns and provide guidance to junior colleagues.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive, approachable attitude and the ability to work effectively within a small team.
• An interest in undertaking some corporate tax advisory work alongside core compliance responsibilities.
