An established and highly regarded Liverpool accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Audit and Accounts Manager to join its growing team.

Audit and Accounts Manager – Responsibilities

Working closely with the Partners and senior management team, you will take responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of audit and accounts clients, overseeing assignments from planning through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of audit and accounts clients, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, professional service.
• Planning, coordinating and overseeing audit assignments from initial planning through to completion.
• Reviewing statutory accounts and financial statements, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 and other relevant UK accounting standards.
• Reviewing audit files, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
• Managing workflow, budgets and deadlines across audit and accounts assignments.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and providing practical business advice.
• Supervising, mentoring and developing audit and accounts seniors and junior colleagues.
• Working closely with Partners to identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.

Audit and Accounts Manager – Requirements

The firm is looking for an experienced audit and accounts professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent client management skills and a proactive approach to developing junior colleagues.

Ideally, you will have:

• ACA or ACCA qualification, ideally with approximately five years' post-qualification experience.
• A strong audit background gained within an accountancy practice, ideally an established independent or regional firm.
• Experience managing audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
• Experience supervising and developing junior colleagues.
• Excellent communication, organisational and client relationship skills.
