Your new company
You will be joining an established international engineering and manufacturing organisation with a strong reputation for developing highly engineered products for demanding applications. Due to continued investment in quality and manufacturing performance, they are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to join their facility in Merseyside.
Your new role
As Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving product, process and supplier quality across the manufacturing site. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and Supply Chain teams, you will identify quality issues, establish root causes and implement effective corrective and preventative actions. You will support both existing manufacturing operations and new product introduction, ensuring appropriate quality controls are embedded throughout the manufacturing process. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Investigating internal and supplier quality issues using structured root cause analysis techniques
  • Developing and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
  • Supporting APQP activities including FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP and process capability studies
  • Managing and improving incoming inspection processes for purchased components and materials
  • Supporting supplier quality improvement and resolving supplier non-conformances
  • Conducting manufacturing process and quality system audits
  • Monitoring quality performance, trends, KPIs and improvement opportunities
  • Supporting new product launches and customer quality requirements
  • Applying Six Sigma and DMAIC problem-solving methodologies
  • Coaching production teams and colleagues in quality tools and structured problem-solving techniques

What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have previous Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment and be comfortable working closely with production teams on the shop floor. You should have practical experience of quality tools including 8D, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, SPC and CAPA, alongside a good understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing processes. Experience with supplier quality, incoming inspection, APQP and process capability would be particularly advantageous. You will be analytical, data-driven and confident managing multiple quality issues simultaneously while working with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable improvements.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of circa £40,000 - £45,000, alongside a benefits package and the opportunity to join an established engineering manufacturer offering exposure to technically challenging products, manufacturing processes and continuous improvement projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer looking for a broad position covering internal quality, supplier quality and new product introduction within a fast-paced engineering environment.
