Investigo

Director of Transformation & Delivery

The Package:- Highly Competitive + Bonus + Package

Location/Work Pattern :- Primarily Onsite 3/4 days a week - Liverpool

The Role:-

Investigo have been appointed as the exclusive search partner of choice, by a leading Professional services organisation, to source a Director of Transformation & Delivery to join the senior leadership team of the CTO.

This is a Greenfield role where the Transformation and Delivery Director will establish and lead the combined Transformation and Delivery Directorate looking after IT Transformation & Business Change Delivery. This is a firmwide function, spanning portfolio and programme management, project delivery, PMO, business analysis, business change, adoption, benefits management and delivery assurance.

The role is accountable for translating the firm’s strategic business priorities into well-orchestrated, successfully delivered and embedded change that produces measurable improvements in internal service, colleague experience, productivity, quality, cost and sustainable profitable growth.

Role Requirements:-

• Directorate leadership: Establish and lead the directorate, with responsibility for portfolio and programme management, project delivery, PMO, business analysis, business change, adoption, benefits management and delivery assurance. Design and embed the operating model, role clarity, governance, and ways of working.

• People leadership and capability: Lead and coach the team, with responsibility for colleague experience, performance, delivery, professional standards and capability development. Create a shared culture focused on business outcomes, accountability, collaboration, pace, transparency and continuous improvement. Ensure all colleagues have clear objectives, current job descriptions, regular one-to-ones, development plans and meaningful performance conversations. Build capability, succession and career pathways.

• Enterprise transformation and delivery: Be accountable for the orchestration, delivery governance and assurance of the agreed portfolio of strategic, technology, data, operational and regulatory change. Provide visible senior leadership for large, complex and business-critical programmes and intervene directly where delivery is at risk.

• Delivery planning and orchestration: Ensure initiatives have clear outcomes, accountable sponsors, realistic plans, appropriate resources and effective delivery leadership. Manage cross-programme dependencies, sequencing and constraints so the portfolio can be delivered safely and at an achievable pace.

• Adoption, readiness and transition: Ensure change is designed around business need, with testing, acceptance criteria, change impact, stakeholder engagement, communications, readiness, training, service transition, adoption and accountable operational ownership built into delivery from the outset.

• Method-agnostic delivery: Apply the delivery approach best suited to the work and avoid imposing process where it does not add value. Challenge the status quo constructively and proactively address ambiguity, delay, duplication or weak accountability.

• Portfolio governance and prioritisation: Own and make visible a transparent view of the firmwide change portfolio, including scope, status, dependencies, capacity, costs, risks, outcomes and benefits. Lead portfolio planning and prioritisation, enabling informed choices about investment, sequencing and capacity.

• Assurance and escalation: Establish proportionate delivery governance, reporting and assurance that enables timely decisions and effective escalation. Provide clear, evidence-based reporting and recommendations to the CTO, Executive and relevant governance forums. Act as the senior escalation point for material delivery risks and unresolved dependencies.

• Assurance relationships: Work with Risk & Compliance, Information Security, Finance and other assurance functions to ensure delivery risks and controls are assessed appropriately, while maintaining clear separation between delivery ownership and independent oversight.

• Stakeholder leadership and influence: Build trusted relationships with the Board, Executive, partners, business leaders and enabling functions. Enact change through credibility, judgement, relationships and constructive challenge, including where there is no direct authority. Translate complex issues into clear decisions, consequences and actions.

What are we looking for:-

•Significant senior leadership experience delivering enterprise-scale transformation in a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation.

• Demonstrable experience leading a portfolio of concurrent, interdependent and business-critical change across multiple functions and delivery partners, involving business, technology, data, process and people change.

• Demonstrable experience of establishing, reshaping and leading a multidisciplinary transformation or delivery function, including portfolio and programme management, project delivery and business change, with experience of several of the following: PMO, business analysis, adoption, benefits management and delivery assurance.

• Experience operating credibly with Board, Executive and senior business stakeholders, translating complex delivery issues into clear decisions and influencing change through relationships and judgement, including without direct authority.

• Evidence of recovering challenged programmes or portfolios and making difficult recommendations on scope, sequencing, investment, recovery or cessation.

• Experience of portfolio prioritisation, resource and capacity planning, dependency management and delivery assurance.

• Experience managing significant budgets, commercial arrangements and third-party delivery partners.

• Evidence of leading and building high-performing teams, developing capability and creating accountability through clear objectives and performance management.

• Experience selecting and adapting delivery approaches to suit the context rather than relying on a single methodology.

• Ideally a background in professional services or another regulated, partnership-led environment.

• Relevant senior-level change, programme, portfolio or leadership qualifications, supported by substantial practical experience.
