Location: Huyton, Liverpool
Salary: £27,941 - £30,840 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced Retail Manager looking for your next challenge? Do you have a passion for leading teams, driving sales and delivering excellent customer service?

We are recruiting a hands-on, commercially minded Shop Manager to take responsibility for the successful day-to-day running of a charity retail operation in Huyton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Charity Retail Manager or a Retail Manager from a high street, fashion, grocery, convenience or other fast-paced retail environment looking to transfer their skills into a rewarding charity retail role.

You'll take ownership of shop performance, leading a team of staff and volunteers, maximising sales and ensuring excellent operational and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of shop performance, driving sales, Gift Aid and profitability targets.
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of staff and volunteers, creating a positive working environment.
• Recruit, train and retain volunteers, making the most of their skills and experience.
• Maximise stock generation through community engagement and building relationships with donors.
• Oversee stock control, pricing, merchandising and replenishment to maximise sales opportunities.
• Monitor sales figures, KPIs and EPOS data, identifying opportunities to improve performance.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards of presentation.
• Manage budgets, cash handling, banking and general shop administration.
• Ensure effective rota planning, staffing levels and day-to-day operational cover.
• Support fundraising initiatives, community events and wider charity activities.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

• Previous management experience within a retail environment, ideally charity retail, but this is not essential.
• Experience managing, motivating and developing teams.
• A strong commercial mindset with experience of working towards sales targets and KPIs.
• Experience managing budgets, stock control and retail operations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to lead by example.
• An interest in working within the charity sector and supporting a worthwhile cause.

Previous knowledge of Gift Aid and charity retail operations would be advantageous, but full consideration will be given to candidates with strong transferable retail management experience.
